Bill Stearman is a Queer quilt maker, storyteller, and social activist living and working in Picton, Ontario.
With his work, he pushes limits, challenges tradition, and explores alternate materials and techniques.
Frequently, his quilts address topics not generally associated with quilts; depression, death, abuse, racism, Queer issues ...
Bill's goal with his work is to challenge viewers to think, to react, and to have conversations. His hope is that folks will see his work as true and honest; something that matters; something that will make a difference.
Since a life-saving liver transplant in 2021, Bill is obsessed with the notion that he's been gifted extra years of life solely to be an agent of positive change and to make a difference; to change the world!
In this presentation, ‘Even if Your Voice Shakes’, he’ll review his work over the past ten years, including recent work advocating for Queer rights and his work to record the progression of Queer rights in Canada.
Even If Your Voice Shakes takes place at the Best Western Premier Winnipeg East, 900 Regent Avenue W in Winnipeg. There are 2 lecture times available 1:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00.
We have also allowed time in the presentation for questions, discussion and friendship.
